Possible lines of research for analyzing social phenomenon are proposed through a particular mortuary context, that of the Agua Verde burial in Catamarca Province . Inferences are made on diet, pathologies, social organization, status, etc. from two sources of information: from the study of mortuary practices such as location of the tomb, position of the corpse, burial goods, etc, and from skeletal analyses such as diet, pathologies, deformations, etc. Results from these analyses are related to archaeological antecedents (burials in urns, stylistic characteristics of burial goods) and historical background from the region. Finally, taking into account the limitations of this single burial, we propose a series of questions and perspectives that will open up future lines of research.
