Abstract

SERNA, Alejandro; D'ADDONA, Lucas A  and  IVAN PEREZ, S. Precisión y replicabilidad de una aproximación no discreta al estudio de las modificaciones artificiales del cráneo. Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2013, vol.14, n.2, pp.477-481. ISSN 1850-373X.

The main objective of this paper is to explore the accuracy and repeatability of geometric morphometric techniques to describe the pattern of variation in artificial modifications of the skull. Our approach demonstrates a great descriptive capacity and the posibility of transforming quantitative morphological variation into continuous qualitative information. The variation described is continuous in the morpho-space of the cranial modifications, showing that the studied cases don not conform to naturally discrete groups.

Keywords : Bioarchaeology; Quantitative techniques; Inter and intra-observer error.
