Abstract
BONNAT, Gustavo Federico and LEONIS MAZZANTI, Diana. Análisis de la tecnología lítica de las ocupaciones humanas efímeras durante la transición Pleistoceno- Holoceno: el caso de Cueva La Brava (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2015, vol.16, n.1, pp.287-300. ISSN 1850-373X.
This paper presents the detailed results of the techno-morphological analysis of Cueva La Brava Site (eastern Sierras de Tandilia), corresponding to the Pleistocene-Holocene transition. The main goal of this paper is to explain how lithic resource management developed. The site was defined as a camp of ephemeral occupations in which restricted activities related to the final stages of lithic production took place. Different chaîne operatoire were developed in order to determine the trajectory of the lithic resources recovered at the archaeological site, among which there was a high frequency of rocks such as orthoquartzites Grupo Sierras Bayas, a resource that is not available in the area. This material was used to manufacture non-standard instruments. Other resources available locally (orthoquartzites Formacion Balcarce), or of unknown provenance (silicified pelite, silice), were used less frequently.
