Abstract
BALDUCCI, Fernando et al. Impresiones textiles en la alfarería procedente de sitios arqueológicos del centro-este de la provincia de Santa Fe (Argentina). Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.2, pp.261-276. ISSN 1850-373X. http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.37176/iea.23.2.2022.764.
This paper presents the initial analysis of textile imprints found on ceramic sherds recovered from Arroyo Cululú 1, Familia Primón, Ombú de Basualdo, and Campo Cervi archaeological sites. These sites are located in central east Santa Fe Province, Argentina, an area in which environmental conditions make the preservation of indigenous textile technology scarce or null. Therefore, the study of textile technology based on indirect marks on pottery is relevant. The results indicate the presence of impressions of net mesh and basketry, which are unusual findings for sites linked to the Paraná River alluvial plain. In addition, the analysis carried out incorporates a bibliographical review of archaeological sites with textile imprints, which enables interpretations to be proposed and then placed within the macro-regional context. The information obtained from the study contributes to knowledge of know-how and technological practices among the human groups that inhabited the center-east of Santa Fe in the past, as well as the relationships they established with populations from neighboring areas.
