Abstract
OTS, María José; SALGAN, M. Laura and SUGRANES, Nuria. Estrategias tecnológicas y patrones de interacción en la cuenca del río de Las Tunas (Valle de Uco, Mendoza). Un aporte preliminar desde estudios arqueométricos. Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.2, pp.185-202. ISSN 1850-373X. http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.37176/iea.24.2.2023.814.
This paper studies human interaction between central and southern Mendoza during the last 1500 years by identifying patterns of mobility and circulation of goods. To this end, strategies involved in the procurement and distribution of obsidian and pottery from sites in the Las Tunas river basin in the Uco Valley were analysed and compared by means of technological and archaeometric characterization. Consequently, regional trends towards the intensification of interaction networks (greater frequency and variety of sources) and the diversification in the mechanisms of access to goods of different origins were contrasted. Finally, the relationship between this process with the establishment of nodes of concentration and distribution of goods through circuits beyond the Andean Cordillera is discussed in line with other changes associated with Inca interaction with local populations in the southeastern frontier of Tawantinsuyo.
