Abstract

FERNANDES, Telma Cristina Dias; NARDI, Roberto  and  LANCIANO, Nicoletta. Study on the adaptation of the didactic material of Astronomy - The Diary of the Sky - From the context of the Northern Hemisphere to the South Hemisphere. Rev. electrón. investig. educ. cienc. [online]. 2021, vol.16, n.2, pp.18-29. ISSN 1850-6666.

This article describes the first of the stages of a most extensive research, which is concerned with minimizing the distance between the academic production of the science area, in this case, Astronomy, and the knowledge and practices of teachers and some of Basic Education. Entitled "The Northern Sky and the Southern Sky - Astronomy teaching in Basic Education: a cooperative experience between Brazil and Italy", it sought to interfere with this reality, as it enabled a group of teachers who taught present curricula of disciplines of Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Geography and other related areas, using various methodological proposals and teaching tools, for the construction of concepts referring to Astronomy. Here are the singularities found during the stages of translation and adaptation of the teaching material Il Diario del Cielo.(The Diary of the Sky), originally idealized for the reality of the Northern Hemisphere (Rome, Italy) and adapted to the reality of the tropical belt of the Southern Hemisphere (Bauru, São Paulo, Brazil), trying to broaden or debate on its potential and scope for or work with Astronomy concepts, in a training program for teachers of basic education, in the area of science.

Keywords : Astronomy Education; Didactics of Astronomy; Adaptation of Teaching Material; The Diary of the Sky; Teacher Training.
