Abstract

Different theories try to explain and define what technology is. Each of one represents a different positioning to face the reality, and determines the definition of the object of study and the methodologies normally used for its treatment from the point of view of education.  In this work, the positioning that underlie three different modalities used for addressing the "computer graphics technology" (as part of the universe of computer technology), in university careers like architecture or design, are discussed. Also, in this paper, the possible consequences of these positioning in the formation of future professionals are analyzed, and the need to strengthen those that are supported by a critical approach to technology is substantiated.
