This article deals with the conceptualization and evaluation of collaborative work for educational purposes. The objective is to present a methodology for monitoring collaborative work mediated by computer technology in educational contexts, which includes a matrix of collaboration indicators as a key component. It is also presented the validation of this matrix through expert judgment and its results. It begins with the definition of collaborative work, and a didactic proposal built in stages. Then the monitoring methodology is presented, with the description of its components: object, stages, actors, theoretical model, indicators, instruments and technology. The matrix of indicators and their operationalization are the central part of this methodology. This matrix is submitted to expert judgment. The article includes the complete validation strategy: selection of experts according to different criteria, communication, instrument used, monitoring and results. From this point, the conclusions include the improvement of the matrix, based on comments of the experts and the presentation of the complete methodology.
