Abstract
AMORIM, Joni de Almeida and ALVARENGA, Cacilda Encarnasso Augusto. The Methodological Approach of Design Science in the context of Blended Learning Courses. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.30, pp.28-39. ISSN 1851-0086.
The present study has a theoretical and discursive nature while seeking to broaden the academic knowledge in Design Sciences. At the same time, this study stimulates the interest in the development of interdisciplinary research in this perspective. The purpose of the Design Sciences is, as a methodological approach, to promote the construction of scientific knowledge through the development, application and evaluation of artifacts. An example of an artifact conceived in this perspective is presented, and its revision is then discussed in order to design a new artifact. Both artifacts are aimed at improving the process of integrating technologies into teaching. They exemplify the use of the methodological approach, confirming that it makes use of diverse knowledge to understand and to solve a problem. The growing use of digital information and communication technologies in education makes it relevant to develop research that includes approaches to problem solving, favoring the teaching and learning process. The context of both the design and the offering of blended learning courses is taken into consideration since it is a scenario where professionals from different areas of knowledge may collaborate in interdisciplinary research.
