Abstract

GIULIANI, Guilherme dos Santos; SANTOS, Cristiano Sasse dos; SCHAF, Frederico Menine  and  ROCHA, Karla Marques da. Connected Schools?: The Possibility of New Computer Networks. Rev. iberoam. tecnol. educ. educ. tecnol. [online]. 2021, n.30, pp.59-65. ISSN 1851-0086.

The networks provide several services that help and automate tasks, among them possibilities to develop collaborative and shareable works in the Education area. Through a multiple case study, the research was developed through interviews and questionnaires with civil servants from the municipal schools of Santa Maria/RS/Brazil, aiming to demonstrate the current scenario of availability of Internet links, proposing, as an alternative, a private network between schools. The results demonstrated a lack of technological means available in the schools surveyed. Therefore, public investments in new computer networks can boost connections, enabling improvements between schools' communication, regardless of their Internet links.
