Abstract

BOCELLI, Sebastián. MOTIFS FOR DRAWING THE ROCK: A FIRST APPROACH TO THE ROCK ART OF LA AGUADITA (TAPSO, CATAMARCA). Comechingonia [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.2, pp.1-10. ISSN 1851-0027.

In the northern of the Sierra El Alto-Ancasti, in the jurisdiction of Tapso (El Alto Department, Catamarca), the site "La Aguadita" is located in a rocky outcrop. Surrounded by a semi-arid Chaco environment, stands out the coexistence between large trees and perennial shrubs. The goal of this work focuses on the survey of the rockshelter site chart with its respective description and classification of the motifs. The "Landscape Archaeology" allows to approach this study from three scales of analysis: site, panel, and motif. In light of the results we discuss the possible reuse of this rupestrian locus over time.

Keywords : El Alto-Ancasti hills; Landscape Archaeology; Semi-arid Chaco; space reuse.
