Abstract

DI LULLO, Eugenia. HERDING AS TOLD IN FIRST PERSON: INTERVIEW TO SABINO FIDEL DÍAZ, LAST INHABITANT OF QUEBRADA DE LOS CORRALES. Comechingonia [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.1, pp.1-10. ISSN 1851-0027.

This paper ponders over herding practices in Quebrada de Los Corrales (El Infiernillo, Tucumán) during part of the 20th Century. The information hereby introduced originates from a series of interviews carried out with the last inhabitant of an abandoned shepherd stall that rests on an archaeological site where, in turn, an investigation on pre-hispanic herders has begun. The firsthand testimony offered by Mr. Sabino was highly relevant in terms of the data provided and because it became a starting point for the reflection on past practices.

Keywords : testimony, herders, valleys and ravines, archaeology.
