Abstract

With the aim of increasing knowledge on knapping strategies and management of raw materials developed by the groups of pampean hunter-gatherers in the Middle Holocene, the technomorphology results studies corresponding lithic materials to the second human occupation Cueva Tixi, dated on 4865 ± 65 AP are presented. In this technological set is observed two knapping tool strategies linked to the quality class of the raw material; where the expedient knapping tool are used on local rock and curated strategies on knapping tool are used on nonlocal rock better quality. Finally middle Holocene occupation is interpreted as logistical operative site near to hunting post in which of carcass processing specific activities were developed.
