Abstract

TISSERA, Luis. THE RUPESTRIAN LANDSCAPE OF CERRO COLORADO (CÓRDOBA PROVINCE, ARGENTINA): DETECTING OTHER SENSES, OTHER CORPORALITIES. Comechingonia [online]. 2018, vol.22, n.1, pp.1-10. ISSN 1851-0027.

The archaeological analysis of sites with rock art generates different narratives constructed from elements that define them as such, that is painted or engraved firm operating as visual references representations. Although the visual potency incorporated in rock motifs and themes is not discussed, in this work other sensory aspects that remain relegated by the pre-eminence of the images and that could be included as parts of those narratives are discussed. In this sense, an approximation is attempted from a perspective that contains non-visual aspects of the archaeological features, linked to a particular type of materiality (sedimentary rocks located in specific places), that was possibly meaningfully and experienced through touch and included within the multiplicity of social practices carried out in certain rock shelters.

Keywords : gesturality, materiality, touch experience, rock-art.
