Abstract

VAQUER, José María et al. Dwelling Enclosure 1 in Pajchela Nucleo (Cusi Cusi, Upper San Juan River Basin, Jujuy): changes and continuities. Comechingonia [online]. 2020, vol.24, n.2, pp.1-10. ISSN 1851-0027.

In this paper we present the results of archaeological excavations conducted in Enclosure 1, PajchelaNúcleo, CusiCusi, upper San Juan Mayo River Basin; and we interpret them in terms of different ways of dwelling that followed in time. From stratigraphic and recovered materials analysis, we suggest that there were three occupations: the first one with dates that places it in the Late Regional Developments Period (AD 1200-1450), related with people from the Doncellas-Casabindo sphere; a second one during Inka and Early Colonial times (AD 1450-1660) and a third one that begins in the Colony and endures until today. We interpret these occupations in terms of a multi-temporal landscape, leading to the present interpretations of different agents involved in material relations (community, archaeologists, and tourists).
