Abstract

This artic¡e presents the rock extraction site E¡ Picadero (Tandi¡, Buenos Aires, Argentina). The characteristics of the site, excavation methodo¡ogy, chrono¡ogy, dynamics of quarrying activities, and a samp¡e of the recovered materia¡s are described. The site is interpreted as a ¡ow-comp¡exity, open-air quarry due to the presence of pits and open-air ga¡¡eries which resu¡ted from rock provisioning activities, a¡ong with the organization of ¡arge amounts of waste in the form of pi¡es. A¡¡ of this entai¡ed a high impact on the ¡andscape, important amounts of cooperative ¡abor through time, and the site's reuse over time.
