Abstract

From the praxis social psychology, we built together a workshop to create practices and knowledge on health self-management with Unemployed Workers Movement. This workshop included communitarian diagnostic, history of public politics, health situation analysis, design of preventive and promotion projects and social networks construction. The contribution as intervention strategy should be viewed in relation to develops a critical understanding and capacity for influencing the decision making process. The interaction between the researcher and the community can actively studies the distribution and determinants on health and applies this information to the control health's problems. The social action perspective emphasizes the structural inequalities -class, gender, race- and promote a sense of community and emancipation. Methodology is participative and reflexive with qualitative and quantitative techniques and methodological triangulation. We focus on the research of perception on health's needs, social representations and strategies to protect health, to evaluate the impact of this workshop. The purpose is to promote strategic monitory of needs and to facilitate collective self-management and empowerment on preventive and promotional practices on health.
