Abstract
GALIBERT, María Silvia et al. Will-to-work among students of Psychology. Anu. investig. [online]. 2007, vol.14, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-1686.
The objective of this work is to obtain the profile of students of Psychology regarding their Will-to-Work in order to enrich the discussion of teachers with respect to students responsibility. Will-to-Work is characterized as the tendency of an individual to discharge duties with responsibility, self motivation and without procrastination. An 8-item questionnaire type Likert (α = .685) was administered to 1,141 students of the second year of the Psychology School, University of Buenos Aires, who tended to score highly. The adults (aged 30 or more) scored over young people (aged 18 -29). Interaction between Gender and Work was found; the men who do not work scored lower. On the contrary, no differences were observed between women who do not work and women and men who work. Different explanations for these findings and the possible influence of both social desirability and the standards of exigency on the bias observed in the score distribution are discussed.
