Participated of the study a sample of 298 university students of four schools in different disciplinary areas (Math, Engineering, Social Sciences and Psychology). Raven's Progressive Matrices Test, Differential Aptitude Test (T Form), Cognitive Styles inventory (Sternberg) and a self evaluation aptitude scale were administered. Differential profiles were obtained considering the aptitude variables included in the study. Significant difference were obtained between careers in the self evaluation aptitude scale and cognitive styles. Verbal reasoning, calculus ability and abstract reasoning were the best predictors of academic achievement.
