Abstract

First Lacan writings differentiates the "madness" concept from the other one of "psychosis", contradicting therefore the common use in language that takes them equivalent. This confusion can carry adverse effects in the psychoanalytic clinic. Thus is better to clarify and maintain its difference. Although Lacan comentators have recognized that distinction is not enough outstanded the transformation of the concept of "madness" at the his latest works, nor has settled down its nature, its reaches and consequences. In order to do it, we will explore the differences between "madness" and "psychosis" with his knots theory support, where the psychosis and neurosis like particular different form of knotting, and also defines "madness" like a registers untied. In this work is carried out a journey that connects the first references of Lacan about the madness with the last ones mentioned.
