Abstract

GONZALEZ, Gustavo  and  GONZALEZ, Federico. University training, ability profiles and thinking style. Anu. investig. [online]. 2011, vol.18, pp.301-310. ISSN 1851-1686.

Analyzes the impact of various university course on aptitude profiles and thinking styles in different groups of university. It was applied an intra-subject design with ´pre-post´ measures. Results providing from a sample of 127 university students are showed. Subjects were recruited from four different careers . A battery of tests was applied in two occasions with an interval of 18 months. The following tests integrate the battery: Progressive Matrices, DAT-T Form (five scales), and the Thinking Styles Inventory (Sternberg). A longitudinal analysis showed a significant increase in the ´post´ means for almost all the abilities tested. The ability profiles also showed the same tendency. On the contrary, the thinking styles measures remained stable in a ´pre-post´ comparison.
