Abstract

MURATORI, Marcela; DELINO, Gisela  and  ZUBIETA, Elena M.. Life events and wellbeing. Anu. investig. [online]. 2012, vol.19, n.1, pp.49-57. ISSN 1851-1686.

In psychology well-being has been basically deined as "subjective" (Diener, 1994) or "psychological" (Ryff, 1989). Páez, Bilbao and Javaloy, (2008) observed that negative life events have a longer inluence than positive ones on affectivity. Also, positive events reinforce mostly psychological wellbeing and social integration. With the aim of exploring the relationship between life events, both positive and negative with life satisfaction, psychological and social well being, a correlational study, based on a convenient sample of 809 subjects of both sexes, aged between 17 and 66 years- was carried out. Results show a relationship between life events, satisfaction with life, psychological and social well being. This relationship is also hold when controlling for age and sex.

Keywords : Life-events; Satisfaction; Well-being.
