Abstract

FREIDIN, Fabiana  and  SLAPAK, Sara. Accidents in children: A case study. Anu. investig. [online]. 2012, vol.19, n.1, pp.233-241. ISSN 1851-1686.

The partial analysis of a descriptive study of accidents in children is presented within the framework of the project "Therapeutic efficacy. Development of an empirical methodology for its determination". Particularities of children´s mental processes, included processes of symbolization, are studied following an empirical methodology, within the theoretical framework of the English School of Psychoanalysis. A qualitative and quantitative analysis of diagnostic playing sessions of children whose clinical protocol records registered accidents - injuries that were not caused by third person - is carried out. The paper summarizes some of the contributions of the state of the art in the ield, with an emphasis on psychoanalytic concepts and some central conceptualizations of the theoretical framework. To illustrate the methodology, the analysis of a case selected from a sample of the population of a clinical psychology unit belonging to a university chair is presented: a ive year-old child.
