Abstract

RADOVICH, Juan Carlos; BALAZOTE, Alejandro  and  PICCININI, Daniel. Desarrollo de represas hidroeléctricas en la Argentina de la posconvertibilidad. Avá [online]. 2012, n.21. ISSN 1851-1694.

The generation of a new economic model in Argentina from 2002-2003, required a redefinition and fitting of energy production to new needs. In account of this, new strategies were planned in energy production. In this article we analyze planning and installation of hydroelectric dams in Argentina, from the end of the so called "Convertibility Regime", in which the exchange rate was U$S 1 = $ 1, the main issue of neoliberal policies executed from 1990 to 2001. Nevertheless, we don't focalize over social and regional impacts or on effects over local populations. Our scope deals mainly from a structural perspective, emphasizing social, economic and political issues of new strategies in energy production, trying to reflect on this kind of activity, in the frame of present economic development in Argentina, related to the growing state association.

Keywords : Energy Production; Hydroelectric Dams; State; Argentina.
