Abstract

GONNET, Juan Pablo. Cultura, organizaciones y antropología: Una revisión crítica. Avá [online]. 2012, n.21. ISSN 1851-1694.

The concept of organizational culture appears as a central problematic dimension in the anthropology of organizations. Although this field of studies is in actual development, many authors have shared the necessity of differentiating the anthropological perspective about organizations from management theories. We consider that this critical movement faces the risk of not recognizing the fact that culture has recently appeared as a reflexive category in the field of contemporary organizations. This article supports the thesis that an adequate anthropological conceptualization of organizations should explore the meanings that actors (including management theorists) give to the semantic of culture.

Keywords : Anthropology of Organizations; Organizational Culture; Management; Ethnography.
