Abstract

ARACH, Omar. Dilemas de gran escala: El antropólogo fáustico, las grandes represas y la tragedia del desarrollo. Avá [online]. 2014, n.25, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-1694.

In this paper I intend to resume Leopoldo Bartolomé’s ideas regarding involvement of anthropologists in Big Projects, at the light of current challenges. Beginning with his analysis about anti-dams movements that rose up in Brazil during the ‘80s, I wonder about the problems and research agenda from the standpoint of the people fighting against Big Projects. I also pick up some of Bartolomé’s concepts in order to think about the role of anthropologists facing the development tragedy in the Anthropecene age.

Keywords : Development; Affected People; Anthropologists; Anthropocene.
