Abstract

ALIANO, Nicolás; PI PUIG, Ana Pilar; RAUSKY, María Eugenia  and  VALLEJOS, Mariángeles. The Kindergartens during the pandemic: pedagogical link, health and inequality in Greater La Plata. Avá [online]. 2020, n.37, pp.47-72.  Epub July 23, 2020. ISSN 1851-1694.

The article analyzes the link between initial education institutions and homes during the context of Social Isolation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Greater La Plata. The strategies of a series of public and private kindergartens are examined to guarantee pedagogical continuity and link with families, as well as the social contexts of reception of the proposals in the homes, based on a set of qualitative interviews with directors of gardens and parents of children attending the initial level. The work accounts for the complexity of the home-institution link, highlighting its differential modulations in public and private educational contexts. Beyond the transmission of curricular content, these institutions provided information on health care, contributed to subjectively elaborating the unprecedented situation in children, acted as a space for social containment of vulnerable households and energized pre-existing local social networks.
