Abstract

GAVAZZO, Natalia; LOPEZ, Belén  and  RAJOY, Romina. “SOSTENER”, “PADECER” Y “AGUANTAR” EN PANDEMIA: INTEGRALIDAD DE LA SALUD Y CUIDADOS COMUNITARIOS ENTRE MUJERES MIGRANTES DEL GBA. Avá [online]. 2020, n.37, pp.95-124.  Epub July 23, 2020. ISSN 1851-1694.

Some recent studies affirm that the COVID-19 epidemic should be understood as a syndemic, that is, as the synergy between a pandemic and other diseases and social conditions that are aggravated and put certain vulnerable social groups at greater risk. In this line, and from a research conducted since 2019 with migrant women residents in the settlements of the Reconquista River basin in the Buenos Aires district of San Martin, we analyze the impacts that had in their case the governmental measures of Preventive and Mandatory Social Isolation to face the coronavirus, and what other physical, mental and social conditions converged in the treatment of the pandemic. The objective will be to study the strategies deployed to sustain integral health through community care, and to study the experience of migrant women in these tasks.

Keywords : Integral health; COVID-19; Migrant women; Community care.
