In this paper Amartya Sen’s capability approach will be connected with educational discussions in relation to the capacity of information seeking and self-learning. Firstly, the capability approach will be connected to educational discussions. Secondly, the capability approach will be connected to the problem of digital divide. Finally, Sugata Mitra’s ideas about self-learning will be analyzed and connected to Amartya Sen’s capability approach.
