Abstract

GIUNTI, Graciela M.  and  CONTARDI, Silvia. Culture and Context of Knowledge Dissemination Strategies: Comparative Study of Researchers of Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of Universidad de Buenos Aires (2003-2010). Inf. cult. soc. [online]. 2014, n.31, pp.29-51. ISSN 1851-1740.

The article presents the results of a comparative study of the scientific output of the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad de Buenos Aires during the years 2003, 2007 and 2010. Each year coincides with the end of a period of scientific programming at the University, and the study's objective was to determine whether any changes occurred related to the prevalent culture of scientific dissemination at the institution, mainly related to digital information and communication technologies. Quantitative procedures were applied to analyze the data recorded by the researchers themselves in their final research reports. The following aspects were examined for each year: Types of documents (journal articles, conference papers/presentations, chapters of books and books, audiovisual and electronic materials); language used; journals selected (national and international), scientific meetings (national and international in scope, with and without the publication of proceedings and languages), book publishers (university presses, commercial publishers, organizations and others) and individual or multiple authorship. Over 7 years, the comparative study did not find significant changes in the behavior of researchers from the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, in relation to the dissemination of their scientific output, and continue to maintain their practices when wanting to disseminate their achievements. The conference papers represent over 50% of the preferences of teachers / researchers.
