Abstract

SCHALAMUK, Santiago; CHIDICHIMO, Hugo  and  CABELLO, Marta. Variations in Glomeromycota species composition in a wheat crop under different tillage systems. Bol. Soc. Argent. Bot. [online]. 2007, vol.42, n.1-2, pp.45-53. ISSN 1851-2372.

Agricultural practices affect the dynamics and biodiversity of Glomeromycota. Field experiments were carried out in order to assess the variations of the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi community in a wheat crop, which was evaluated at different phenological stages under different tillage systems (conventional tillage and no-tillage) and nitrogen fertilization during 2 years. We found 24 species, which is considered a high number in contrast to other studies in agroecosystems. The species belonging to the family Glomeraceae showed a higher dominancy, especially in no-tillage. The lack of tillage in this system did not promote a higher specific richness or evenness in the distribution of Glomeromycota , as other researchers have pointed out, but in contrary the opposite tendency was found.

Keywords : Glomeromycota diversity; Conventional tillage; No-tillage; Wheat phenological stages.
