Abstract

SOSA, María de las Mercedes. Foliar and caulinar anatomy of Stemodia hassleriana (Scrophulariaceae), a species endemic to Paraguay. Bol. Soc. Argent. Bot. [online]. 2008, vol.43, n.3-4, pp.255-259. ISSN 1851-2372.

Foliar and caulinar anatomy of Stemodia hassleriana Chodat, a species endemic to Paraguay is studied. This species is distinguished from the remaining species of Stemodia from Paraguay since it presents the stems with collenchyma and six notorious ribs. Stem and leaves anatomical structures are described and compared with other species of the genus. Some useful characters for the recognition of this species are illustrated.
