: The inescapable referential points in this study are the perspectives posed recently by the historiography on armed conflicts of the 19th century and its circularity on major issues of Latin American history such as the construction of Liberal States and the march of economic development. This article addresses the elucidation of the series of events that took place in Jujuy as a result of the armed conflicts of the 1860s, as well as the analysis in that historical circumstance of the repercussions of the mobilization of local militias and their derivations in social relations, and the evaluation of the measure and incidence of material contributions.
