Abstract
SOROL, Natalia et al. NIRS spectroscopy in the study of sugarcane quality Part I: Correlations for Brix, Pol, Sucrose, Glucose and Fructose . Rev. ind. agric. Tucumán [online]. 2021, vol.98, n.1, pp.61-66. ISSN 1851-3018.
Determination of quality parameters in sugar cane juice, such as brix, pol, sucrose, glucose and fructose by wet chemistry in the large number of daily samples that are processed in the laboratory takes time and reagents. Because of that Estación Experimental Agroindustrial Obispo Colombres (EEAOC) began to implement Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) to study sugarcane quality. Multivariate calibration methods were developed (selecting different pre-processing algorithms and wavelength ranges) for the above variables, obtaining satisfactory standard errors of cross validation (SECV), and of prediction (SEP), and correlation coefficients (RSQ) for brix, pol and sucrose. For glucose and fructose, lower RSQ and larger errors (SECV and SEP) were obtained, possibly because of the low concentrations of these sugars in the majority of the samples. The results agreed with those found in the literature.
