Abstract

CARABAJAL DE BELLUOMINI, M. del V.  and  FIORENTINO, D. C.. Phytosanitary characterization of tree nursery of Prosopis alba (Griseb) in Santiago del Estero. Quebracho (Santiago del Estero) [online]. 2006, n.13, pp.93-102. ISSN 0328-0543.

The sanitary problems are associated to the plant production systems. Studies about the impact of insects on tree nursery of Prosopis are necessary for to implement strategies of pest management. The aim of this paper was to evaluate the damage and the incidence of the entomophauna in tree nursery of Prosopis alba. The field studies were carried out in two stations: in San Carlos, La Banda and in the land property of the UNSE (D. Capital) during November 2003 to March 2005. The level of damage was evaluated. Two types of traps were used: Moericke traps and entomological net. Thysanoptera and Hemiptera damages were observed in important levels (54%, 56% and 46%). Galls of different morphologicals and morphometrics characteristics were observed too. Plants losses by the impact of those insects were not eviden, however in San Carlos, plants losses were registred by the action of the stem borer microlepidoptera.

Keywords : Damages; Prosopis; Tree nursery; Insects.
