Abstract

ARAUJO, P.; JUAREZ DE GALINDEZ, M.  and  ITURRE, M.. Growth in the main species of a Chaco Santiagueño forest in regeneration. Quebracho (Santiago del Estero) [online]. 2007, n.14, pp.36-46. ISSN 0328-0543.

Diameter growth of the main species in a regenerating forest within the Semiarid Chaco Park was studied out of data recorded in sampling permanent lots using dendrometic strips which allow increase to be measured continuously. Data were grouped into classes and processed by applying regression analysis techniques to eventually obtain growth equations on the basis of which the parameter was estimated. From the results, it was deduced that there exists a large variability among the individual tree growth and inter- and intra-species. Growth class grouping was the one that makes it possible both the regression model adjustment and the setting of general patterns explaining what is currently happening at a forest level.

Keywords : Regenerating forest; Semiarid chaco; Growth equations.
