Abstract

FAZIO, Silvina Celeste. The latin american essay writer as interpreter and founder of new realities. Rev. Pilquen [online]. 2005, n.7. ISSN 1851-3123.

The following article proposes to approach a particular aspect of the essay about the social dimension of the task of the essayist, as interpreter of the world and its complex quality. For this, the analysis centres on the reflections of some Latin-American writers as Carlos Fuentes, Octavio Paz, Gabriel García Márquez and Carlos Monsiváis. The axis of the proposal consists of indicating, specially, the ontological character of the word of the essayist: his aptitude to re-found and to re-mean the reality that he investigates. Hereby, the writer forms his discourse as an individual space with social projection, since, thanks to his subjective investigation, he propitiates the reconsideration of sociocultural representations that include and extend him.

Keywords : Essay; Latin America; Word; Social dimension; Interpretation; Creation.
