Abstract
GARCIA, Analía. New working villages after the hydrocarbon's deregulation: The case of Buta Ranquil (Province of Neuquén). Rev. Pilquen [online]. 2011, n.14, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-3123.
This paper is about oil working villages and its consequences after the deregulation. The focus is set on the analyze of a village livestock situated in the Province of Neuquén at the Argentinean Patagonia that quickly acquired an oil profile as a consequence of the exploitation of a nearby oil field. At the beginning of the decade, civil construction works for the industry promoted the arrival of important immigration quotas. We choose a comparative perspective taking under consideration social spaces that were emblematic as oil-working villages, such as Cutral Co and Plaza Huincul located in the same province. First, we describe the transformation of the village focusing on the subjects point of view. Then, we analyze the housing construction around the oil field and away of the village to understand the subjects experience and way that inequality is expressed. Finally, we consider the limits of the deregulation and the liberty market and its consequences at social spaces where the productive activity takes place.
