Abstract

MELO, Julián A.. The populist effect: National territories, provincializations and populist logic during the first peronism. Rev. Pilquen. secc. cienc. soc. [online]. 2012, n.15, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-3123.

In this work, we propose to analyze the relation between the national territories process of provincialization in the middle 20th century Argentine and the identity configuration of the peronist populism. The hypotheses we tend to discuss establish that, against most of the bibliography on populism, the relation between the latter and political institutions is not antithetical. On the contrary, and without developing a defense of the first peronism, we think that by studying provincializations it is possible to see how institutions tend to reinforce the political frontier incarnated in the populist political process.

Keywords : Populism; Institutionalism; National territories.
