Abstract

TRENTINI, Florencia. Political ecology and conservation: the case of "co-management" of Nahuel Huapi national park and mapuche people. Rev. Pilquen. secc. cienc. soc. [online]. 2012, n.15, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-3123.

This paper seeks to reclaim some of the positions and arguments of Political Ecology to think and analyze the case of co-management of Nahuel Huapi National Park and Mapuche people, focusing primarily on the concept of conservation. For this, I focus on the case of the Mapuche community Maliqueo, who is claiming territory in an area defined by the institution as "critical area", this means an area of high conservation priority. In this regard, I want to think about conservation as a form of control within the jurisdictional framework of the co-management of the Park and rethink it from the statements of "non-equilibrium" outlined from the "New Ecology".

Keywords : Co-management; Conservation; Control; Political ecology.
