Abstract

NUNEZ, Paula Gabriela  and  MICHEL, Carolina. Conquered territories and invisible works: The origins of the patagonian territorial ordering. Rev. Pilquen. secc. cienc. soc. [online]. 2019, vol.22, n.2, pp.13-23. ISSN 1851-3123.

This article explores how the Patagonian territorial recognition, at its origin in the end of XIXth Century and the begin of XXth one, needed the concealment of the effort located as reproductive and how the romantic narrative rescues and recognizes the feminine work, in a way that increased its devaluation. We review the technical instruments which take that invisibility as constitutive of the normal dynamics of development. As a result we present the entailment by which female oppression becomes part of the Patagonian organizational structure for the population and the region.

Keywords : Censuses; Science; Narrative romanticism; Territory; Female work.
