Abstract

The marine flora of eight localities of the state of Tamaulipas, was studied during the months of May to October of 2002.The flora found in the different localities is of net tropical affinity; were observed different degrees of abundance during the different seasons of the year. 134 species distributed in 78 genera were collected, of which and based on bibliographical revision 27 genera and 59 species are of economic potential. The Chlorophyta with 24 species are the most abundant, followed by the Rhodophytas (22 species) and Phaeophytas (13 species).
