Abstract

RAMIREZ-DAVILA, JF et al. Spatial distribution of Asclepias curassavica L., in the State of Mexico, Mexico. Phyton (B. Aires) [online]. 2014, vol.83, n.1, pp.193-202. ISSN 1851-5657.

This study contributes to the knowledge of the biodiversity of the flora of the State of Mexico through an analysis of the distribution and abundance of Asclepias curassavica L., which is planted with ornamental and medicinal potential. The study was carried out in the municipalities of Temascaltepec, Malinalco and Valle de Bravo. The spatial statistical method was used to determine the distribution of A. curassavica based on the method SADIE (spatial analysis by remote indexes). Sampling transects of 200 m, marked every 10 m, were used in the three municipalities, during three times of the year, spring, summer and winter. The plants were located geographically using a browser model eTrex Vista HCx2007. The spatial distribution of the populations of A. curassavica was different in each of the three studied municipalities. Obtained maps showed that the municipality of Malinalco presented the highest density of A. curassavica with respect to the municipalities of Temascaltepec and Valle de Bravo. The index of SADIE allowed to determine that A. curassavica had an aggregate distribution in several centers of aggregation. Populations of A. curassavica of the three municipalities were adjusted to different models (Gaussian, spherical and exponential), validating them using the cross-validation method. The spatial distribution of A. curassavica was confirmed with mapping through the krigeado. SADIE Im index and bivariable Cramer Von Misses tests indicated the existence of space stability between the frst two dates of sampling for the three studied municipalities.
