Abstract
RODRIGUEZ GARCIA, Yoany; CORRES SANZ, Jesús M; CABARROUY FERNANDEZ FONTECHA, Sergio L and VENTO ALVAREZ, José R. Development of interferometry architecture using Fabry-Pérot cavity. Vibrations sensing through In-Line Fiber Etalon (IL FE). Rev. cienc. tecnol. [online]. 2010, n.13. ISSN 1851-7587.
The present work describes and analyzes an optical system for vibration measurements using optical fiber as sensors. First, it is described theoretically: the sensing mechanism basically consists of a Fabry-Perot cavity interferometer. Mathematical software was used to simulate the measurement system, in order to compare the simulated graphics with a practical result. The experimental work was performed using a 1 mW LASER with a wave length of 1310 nm, second window, as an optical source. As photo detector, an InGasAs 675RE Rifocs was used to analyse the power of the signal. Finally the performance of the fabricated device was compared with a commercial accelerometer ISOTRON model 256-100 with a sensitivity of 99.66mV/g by using an oscilloscope with a Fast Fourier Transformed in order to compare and analyze the frequency response.
