PEREIRA, Franciele G; BOLZAN, Nara B; SILVEIRA, Joice T  and  ALMEIDA, Lana C. Hygienic conditions of service tosupplyon apsychosocial carecenter. Rev. cienc. tecnol. [online]. 2015, n.23, pp.48-53. ISSN 1851-7587.

Psychosocial Care Centers (from Portuguese, Centro de AtençãoPsicossocial - CAPS) provide services to people affected by mental illnesses. They must have an adequate space to carry out their functions, including cooking. This study is aimed to evaluate the hygiene conditions of a CAPS kitchen in Brazil. We used a descriptive analysis from the application of a checklist of good practices, considering 11 items. The unit was classified in Group 3, with 41.84% of nonconformities. Most of deficiencies were found in items such as documentation and registration; food preparation; handlers; responsibility; exhibition of ready-made food; and buildings facilities, equipment, and furniture. These nonconformities demonstrate the need for adequate procedures, to meet one of the functions of CAPS, which is to promote the health of mental -affected populations.
