Abstract

MOLINA, Sandra P; MROGINSKI, Luis A  and  REY, Hebe Y. Conservacion in vitro de te a corto/mediano plazo en Argentina. Rev. cienc. tecnol. [online]. 2017, n.28, pp.16-20. ISSN 1851-7587.

This work was done to evaluate methodologies for germplasm in vitro preservation of tea. A Clone CH 14 INTA of breeding program of the EEA Cerro Azul - INTA was used. Two methods of short/medium term storage (low temperatures and suboptimal media) were evaluated. Low temperatures allowed the conservation of nodal segments and axillary buds -up to 5 months, with 73% and 67% survival, respectively. The use of suboptimal media had a similar response, with survival between 60 and 90% up to 120 days. In summary, it is possible to use short/ medium term conservation with germplasm tea.

Keywords : Germplasm; Camellia sinensis; Low temperature; Slow growth media; Explants.
