Abstract

AVILA, Mariela Cecilia. The body as a place of utopia. Estud. filos. práct. hist. ideas [online]. 2012, vol.14, n.2, pp.9-16. ISSN 1851-9490.

From the consideration of utopia as a critical exercise on instituted reality, we wonder about the possible relationship between the body and utopia. To carry out this analysis, we make use of Arturo Andrés Roig's works concerning to utopia and its functions, allowing us to see the political performance that this category has in Latin America. Thereby, from the analysis of the utopical discourse that Roig develops, we seek to show the role of the corporal dimension as an expression of the claims and demands in a particular event: the Mapuche's protest in Chile in 2011.

Keywords : Utopia; Body; Arturo Andrés Roig; Mapuche community; Practic Philosophy.
