Abstract

EXPOSTO, Emiliano. The problem of violence in Jean Paul Sartre and León Rozitchner. Estud. filos. práct. hist. ideas [online]. 2017, vol.19, n.2, pp.77-86. ISSN 1851-9490.

The article analyzes the problem of violence starting from drawing a counterpoint between the thoughts of Jean Paul Sartre and Leon Rozitchner. Our hypothesis is that the Rozitchnerian theses regarding the uses of violence in the leftist movements in the 60s and 70s also allow us to operate a critique of the Sartrean formulations present in two of his most influential texts at the time: Prologue to the Condemned of the Earth (1961) by Franz Fanon and the writings of Colonization and Neocolonization belonging to Volume V of Situations (1964).

Keywords : Violence; Lefts; Subjectivity; Sartre; Rozitchner.
