Abstract

QUEIROLO, Graciela. Women, History and Feminisms: Reflections from Argentina and Chile. Estud. filos. práct. hist. ideas [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.1, pp.1-10. ISSN 1851-9490.

This article provides an overview of Women History’s paths in Chilean and Argentine academies. The starting point is the politized present marked by feminist movements’ demands that were expressed in Buenos Aires and Santiago on 8 March 2019. From that point on, the text traces Women’s History from its beginning to the present by focusing on main perspectives -from contributory history to gender studies- and by pointing to their contribution and downsides. Finally, the study reflects on the dangers of trivialisation that threatens historiography nowadays.

Keywords : Women; History; Feminism; Argentina; Chile.
