Abstract

CRUZ, Gustavo R.. Time for Critique to La Revolución India: Shifts at 50 Years of its First Edition. Estud. filos. práct. hist. ideas [online]. 2021, vol.23, n.2, pp.1-13. ISSN 1851-9490.

My purpose in this paper is to provide a general view of the reception in recent years of the book of Quechuaymara writer Fausto Reinaga (1906-1944), which bears the title La revolución india (1970), fifty years after its first edition. I argue that we are going through a period of criticism to La revolución india, a masterpiece of political indianism, focused nowadays from the perspective of neo-indianist and Aymara-nationalist positions. At the same time, this shows that this work contains a still unsurpassable depth. This paper is organized around three main issues: a) academic readings of La revolución india, b) focuses of current discussion on La revolución india: neo-indianists and Aymara-nationalists, and c) shifts in the critique of La revolución india.

Keywords : Indianism; Neo-Indianism; Revolution; Ideological Shifts.
